Capture the elegance and grace of a Tree Swallow with this watercolor portrait. Soft aquamarine hues highlight the bird’s delicate feathers, bringing a sense of lightness, serenity, and natural beauty into any space.
Swallows hold a special place in my heart. In the village where I grew up, they were everywhere—symbols of summer, freedom, and return. I was deeply excited to encounter a swallow again in New York City. The first time I saw one was during a birdwatching walk along the Salt Marsh Trail near Marine Park in Brooklyn. It flew past quickly—but I caught a glimpse. Later, I saw another along the Jamaica Bay Trail in Queens.
To me, the Tree Swallow represents grace in motion, resilience, and the ability to adapt while remaining light and free. There is something joyful and hopeful in its presence. I find her absolutely beautiful. If I were a bird, I would be a swallow.
